After a rebuild of my '62 hardtop, the top to body seal does not touch the body in the center area under the rear window. (area where the "hump" is). Is this common, and if it is, what do I do to repair.

25 years ago when owning a '62, mine was tight but noticed that some had this problem. Did you speak to person who restored? If done by you have you spoken with parts vendor?

Mine didn't either. I think that is common, if not the norm.

I rebuilt my '62 hardtop about 5 years ago. At that time the only rear weather stripping available was for the earlier C1's and did not have the the proper curvature that the '61-'62 needed to seal correctly on the "hump". I added a piece of black foam under this area to help seal it. I believe that some of the vendors now offer the correct weatherstripping, but I don't really know how the new ones fit. Perhaps you got an "old" piece of weatherstripping.

 There is a differance in the rear rubber stripping between 60-61's and earlier years. The hump is the problem. I think you can get the "right" one from suppliers like Central Corvette and others. Check first to see if they know the difference or you'll be back to square one.:thumbsup3:

If you need any parts for this job Check with Willcox or thePartsladi...btw the two I rebuilt my 67 and they had many if not all the parts that i needed

Check with Glassworks and AutoEntec - they make all the hardtop parts the vendors sell; one of them now makes the unique '61-'62 hardtop rear weatherstrip with the "hump" in the middle to match the windsplit shape in the top and the deck lid.
