Has anyone ever heard of GM experimenting with an all wheel drive Corvette at any time? I enjoy watching the various 'supercar' shows on tv and since there's several that are all wheel drive I didn't know if GM had ever looked into anything like that as an option. I think an all wheel drive ZR1 or Z06 would be awesome but I'm sure it has it's pros and cons like anything else. Just wondering what some other opinions out there are?

The obvious question is why? There are a ton of reasons why not (weight, more driveline mass, space constraints on a front midship platform), and not a whole lot of benefits.
When Audi debuted the Quattro system it was designed for Group A and B rally cars, and dominated there and were great in Le Mans. Chevy doesn't rally race the Vette, and has dominated Le Mans with RWD, why change?

Hehe, an 4 wheel drive system would had been so cool, i really miss my mitsu 3000gt vr4 sometimes in the winter time, cause the 4 wheel drive makes you feel like you are some kind of "ari vatanen" type of driver!!;)
