The best method is to take off the parts that you are going to paint so that you wont have overspray. I send all my stuff that I get painted to my paint shop so I could'nt tell you what paint to use!

I figured I could send the parts to the body shop, was looking to see if anyone paints their own? Also is there a high temp paint that should be used? Special primer to stick to the plastic?

Make sure to prep the plastic well and use an adhesion promoter. You can get the adhesion promoter and high temp spray paint at Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc.
