: Changed all my belts, now getting squeek? Coyote 02-07-2008, 06:30 AM I changed all my belts in my '99 because one of them was showing some cracks. Now when at idle you get a squeeking noise as soon as you give the car some gas the squeeking noise goes away? I don't recall this happening before? Could I have gotten a bad belt? Only squealing I want to hear is me when I mash the gas. :lol: bigdaddysvette 02-14-2008, 11:21 AM i had a somewhat similar problem, when i started my 2000. it would squeal when it started, but would stop when i hit the belt and belt tensioner with lube. took it back to dealer, they replaced the belt tensioner, and i haven't had any squeal since then. tstar 02-15-2008, 07:01 AM Could be some glazing as well...
