Looking at picking up one of these to help with cooler engine coolant temps. Just noticed that these radiators come with engine oil coolers part of the radiator? I thought I remember reading somewhere not good idea to have both running throught the same radiator? Is this correct?

There are different opinions on this. I can tell you on my track car I run power steering cooler, tranny cooler and dewitts with EOC. To say the least all of my temps are down. The dewitts really lowered my collant temps and my oil temps are considerably lower on the track.

I could have run a seperate oil cooler, but I was running out of room to put all these coolers. The dewitt system is top quiality and works.

My experience for road racing with FI is to have a separate oil cooler. Going from a combined Dewitts with the oil cooler inside to an exterior cooler lower my temps over 15 degrees.

Good luck whichever way you decide to go.

If you are like tom & spend a lot of time at the track, go with his suggestion. If it's rarely tracked go with ECS.

Well said. I never had any signif cooling issues with my FI set up until I started spend time at the track (RR). The more seat time I got and the harder I pushed the car, the more acute the overheat issues became.

:iagree: For street applications I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of owners don't realize that the LS1 was designed to run a little hotter and the oil temp needs to reach about 215 (???help me out guys) to burn off condensation and some contanminents...

For a daily driver that makes short trips I agree with you. If it's a weekend warrior I would err on the side of caution and go with one of the above suggestions. In either of the above cases (DD/track), oil changes at 3500 miles will negate most of the issues with condensation or dd/track combo use.
