My mother just got a new 2008 C6 and gave me her stock 1999 C5 that has just under 93,000 miles on it. I'm starting to go to school to become a mechanic and enjoy working on cars. I just have alot to learn still.
My question for you all is can I stick a supercharger on this car with out hurting the motor? Is there anything I should do to the motor first to prep it up or strengthen it first?

If everything is in good condition you can go ahead and S/C. Stay around 6 or 7 psi with a good tune and you'll be OK.

Do a leak down test on the motor to make each cylinder is still healthy. If that's OK the only concern would be the transmission. If it's stick shift, it might need a new clutch to handle the power and if it's an auto the trans might need to be built up to handle the power.
That's about it besides the basics; plugs/wires/fuel filter/etc.

Assuming the engine is in good working order go for it, we have SC'd many high mileage cars. Yes there is a possibility that after the install a trans that's on it's last leg etc can fail, but chances are if it runs fine before, it will run fine afterwards.
One customer comes to mind that came to us with 109K on the car for an SC, he now has 220k ans going strong on the original engine.
