My first vette is not giving me a good empresion it idles all wiered was told on here to see if the cats were cloged i only have 1 cat and the muffler shop said it's good but that my fuel injectors were clogged so i paid the $200 to service the whole fuel system and what do you know the idle is a little better but when i floor it a geo metro could beat me in a race im getting such a lack of power and when i floor it that exhaust sound is sooo wired so i checked the oil and found out it was sooo low there was just a dab on the stick so i put a whole qrt in and still just a dab on it. then i started to check the plugs and pulled 1 out that looked like **** all black and had like wet oil around the threads which scares me hopeing it's not fried piston rings but yeah so i got some stuff to do tomorrow and got a quick question it has these wiered plugs they got 4 prongs someone said they were called platinum 4's anyone know if these are even good plugs for a vette to be using they look weak.

No offense but you bought a 23 year old car. :smack: Get to work on it and bring it up to speed if you have the money to do so. If not, get a newer car.

Sounds like you have oil leaking into the combustion chamber, I would have a compression test and a block test done, these are not expensive. The plugs you have are not cheapies, the four prongs are "electrodes", normally there is only one, four are supposed to give you a hotter spark.

:iagree: You probably are ingesting some oil. Also the platinum plus 4 spark plugs are a gimmick. They arent bad, but they arent superior to a regular platinum sparkplug with one electrode. I feel your pain, I drove my 85 for about 6 months when i bought it and its been down for wiring/overdrive/EFI for about a year. People are intimidated by the difficulty of the cars so they just ignore it a pray that it doesnt break on them.
