Happy New Year to all;
I am looking for someone who has split a c4 door skin from the door shell and maybe share their experience with me. I have a door where the mirror took a hit hard enough to bend the stiffner in the door, thus inhibiting free window operation. I tried pulling it to get it straight but not far enough because it sprang back due to the memory in the material. I don't want to replace the door and loose the vin stickers. I purchased the body books form GLAS-Ra which seem informative. Also does anyone know where I might find a door skin, local GM dealer says they can't get it and I have yet to find one aftermarket.
Your help is appreciated.

Not that difficult. Take the old skin off and glue the new one back on.
Try J and D corvette. Bellflower, Ca. They have a website. They manufacture corvette replacement body parts.

If the inner bar is damaged you need to replace the door. The bar is high strength steel and there for your protection. Do it anyway you want but anything less is a safty compromise.

I thought someone just mentioned recently of a place where you can get those stickers? Maybe just asking a dealer?
For the door part, I have had luck with hard to get peices from Corvette recycling.

Thanks to all for your input. I made a rig to straddle the area and pulled the area back out without the skin removal. I did find a skin on ebay and figured it would be my last resort. As far as the vin stickers go , I have found after talking with a number of people that it is illegal to reprint the vin sticker. So my original door stays, the regulator needed replacement, and the window and dook look fine.
Thanks agan for your input.
