The FAST is of course composite and cost a little more than the aluminum Holley intake. Will they both deliver about the same results with the only difference being what they are made from?

Does Holly make an intake for a C5? Well I guess yes, if someone swapped their fuel injected for a carburator set up. Which would be interesting to say the least.:)

We had a customer that wanted a Holley intake installed on his heads/cam C5. The car lost 30rwhp with the Holley manifold compared to stock. Aluminum tranfers heat, unlike the phenolic material that stock/FAST intake manifolds are made out of, which will result in higher IATs which means less horspower. The FAST/Wilson intake manifolds are the only way to go.

Great info Dave! That is something I really didn't know. That is pretty amazing as to how much power is lost from aluminum intakes over the composite ones.

Yeah, and not just heat issues, the OEM's are concerned about emissions as well. An aluminum manifold will transfer a lot of heat to the fuel rails as well. Also remember that the C5 (1999+) & C6 do not return fuel to the tank from the engine compartment so that additional heat in the fuel rail can vaporize pockets of fuel causing emissions issues on a hot restart.

You can't go wrong with the FAST intake, they have the market cornered for a reason.

IMO unless you are going radical I would go with an LS6 intake. I know of a car locally with 515 RWHP that runs an LS6 intake.

BTW: Holley does have an LS Series composite intake coming out. I happened to look it over at SEMA this year.
