Thinking about switching over to Amsoil. On the boards there really is a mixed opinion on their synthetics? Whats the real 411 from people who have used or currently use?

It is a good oil, right along with Neo and gosh, I can't remember that other sythetic brand that is very high quality!:confused:

Amsoil is one of the better companies for synthetic oils. They also make a transmission oil also.

I'll be using only Amsoil in my C5 project Vette we are building. You spend a little more $$ for this oil but its worth it.

I use Amsoil and like it, and recently used it in my differential fluid change. I've heard nothing but good things about Amsoil except finding it sometimes can be tough. I just order it online and have it sent to my house.:cheers:

I'm not sure how biased this test was but it seems to have been done in good faith;

I might be switching to Valvoline Durablend...

What is the price difference with these oils, how often are you changing the oil? Is it the same or you get longer life out of it?

I go by my oil life meter on the DIC. You get better protection not oil longevity... The prices are across the board! Read my link above...

First of all, love the handle....you have been playing "need for speed" no? :cheers: I like that game too....but to continue to the heart of the matter, Amsoil is one of the highest quality lubricants on the planet and has higher shear strength and lubricity than mobil 1 for a little more money. It is reasonable to extend drain intervals with Amsoil and many people have done so. I run it in all 4 vehicles with good success. I have a bike a 91 subaru station wagon with 149k miles on it and it uses NO oil (10W-40) between annual changes. The wife's subaru outback does great on 10w-40 too. It has the flat 6 and 5 spd auto...quite a quick little car. It has 55k on it. The Vette has 35k on it and will be changed over to Amsoil next oil change...it has Mobil 1 in it for now because I had enough left to change it...so I used it up. The bike has had Amsoil since the first 600 mile change and has been changed twice since then with 10W-40 Motorcycle oil per Suzuki's requirements. I love the stuff. You will too.

Cheers!

:iagree: It is difficult to find, only certain shops I've seen carry it.

Can't you order it online? Heck you can order just about anything that you need online these days.
