I'm about to purchase a 1973 Corvette from my Uncle for $7000. It's stock, and has been sitting on his front yard for 5 years. It has some fiberglass damage to the front (Some one backed up into it). Since my Uncle has been working on cars his whole life, it's not going to be hard to bring back from the dead. He bought the car for $7k over 15 years ago, and that's what's he's charging me. I have been in love with the car since I was 8 years old! Please tell me your opinions!

Aloha!

Personaly, i feel $7000 is a little much. If the vette was damage free, then $7000 wouldn't be bad. I would try and get it for between $5500-$6000. If you can fix and do the body work yourself, then this will help keep cost down. But if you have to pay a shop to do it, your going to be looking at a min $1000 to fix the damage. So if you pay $7000 for the car and say parts, labor, paint are around $2000, then you could buy a nice damage free vette for that same price.

But this is up to you. Somtimes the love for a car out weighs the extra cost. That is a fine vette your looking at and is my fav year vette.

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. Well it's my Uncle and he paid that much for it, and has all the parts for everything...including the front bumper and misc engine stuff too.

I love your car though! it's a beauty. Do you have any more pictures?

I have a few pics i could dig up im sure. Thanks for the complement!
Well if your uncle has the parts, this will help out in repair cost. What ever you deside to do, is ok. Its all about the love of a car...

If you can do the work yourself or you have an extra 10G sitting around, go for it. I did. You have a lot of work ahead of you. I think it was worth it.
