Would a 50 profile tyre work?
Just to get my car a little higher off the ground.
I have 285x40x17 on now standard rims.
Thanks

I never heard of anyone doing that. As far as I know there is no such thing as a 285/50/17, at least not in a performance tire. There is a 275/50/17 available, but you might have some rubbing issues.
285 (section width) X .40 (aspect ratio) = 114 (sidewall height)
275 X .5 = 137.5 (sidewall height)
Hope this helps.
Thanks!! That makes sense.
I was actually thinking in going something like
305x50x17 but then won't make it according to that formula.

Hey guys, I'm lookin for a cheap set of tires for My vett, I'm gonna get new rims in a few months but I have to have a set of tires on these to hold me over. Does anyone know where I can find some?

Print the ad out and see if the local tire store will match prices. Many times they will.
