There was a rumour that there was a battery drain problem with module.
Has anybody heard anything on this ?

I haven't heard anything about this. I also did a quick search for a GM bulletin about it and didn't find anything.

what is a PAL???? what does it do and/or what is it for?

The PAL is an audio accessory item for the C6 Corvette. PAL is an acronym for Personal Audio Link. The PAL enables the use of an iPod or iPhone with Corvette C6 cars equipped with a navigation head unit (only works currently with the navigation radio).

There was a rumour that there was a battery drain problem with module.

The battery drain only happens on cars that install the PAL that are not equipped with XM. The PAL was designed to work with navigation and XM out of the box.
