Steve84, Replaced both regulators on my 84 w/later model c/4 units, this completely solved problem. Approx cost for two used units on ebay $150, new approx $300/$350 each! Check local boneyards, as for years I think the 87 thru 96 are the improved units......should this be incorrect someone jump in and give correct years. You will be very happy w/results.

If you do a lot of your own work it is not difficult, otherwise a factory shop manual will guide you. Once you get replacement unit in your hand, remove door panel and you should be able to figure it out. Be patient, take your time, depending on your level of skill expect approx 1 hour. Good luck...your efforts will produce desired results. Keep us posted.

Listed on ebay overnite are two(left&right) window regulators from a92 model, for $102. These will fit your car.
