: What does everyone do?
I'm new here and own a 2000. I'm looking over alot of post here and curious what does everyone do here for work? I would like to be able to afford doing something to my car, but my salary and also I have a big family prevents me from doing so.
I had a classic '68 Mustang that I had restored over 8 years that I traded in on a 92,000 mile 2000 Corvette 2 summers ago. I thought I would take time and fix this one up, but damn the parts for these cars are so much more expensive than the Mustang parts. :( I guess I just need to save up longer. :(
cmcbunch 01-31-2008, 07:09 AM Man thats the only thing that kept me out of a c5/c6. Parts are just too expensive. At least with a c4 you can retrofit the engine and make good power without spending a fortune. Im military btw.
bkemp 01-31-2008, 02:28 PM It's xalled the Corvette Tax :thud:
Eddie 70 01-31-2008, 02:39 PM Corvette Tax is the killer on these vettes. When I was working on my 70 I met a guy with a Mustang and we compared some prices. I was blown away at what it was costing me compared to him.
BTW, I am a maintenance electrician at a nuclear plant.
Lethal Tendencies 01-31-2008, 05:59 PM I am also a maintenance electrician. I work at a factory in northern Illinois. Alot of things on my car I have done myself which really keeps the cost down
