How big of a job is this? I have opportunity to pick up some 3.73's for pretty good price from a friend. But don't want to buy if to big of job.

Unless you are an axle man(and you wouldnt be asking) I would not attempt this. Even if you have done normal ring and pinion swaps before its nothing like that on a c5 vette. Lotta custom tools. Me and my dad (45 year engine builder) attempted this once for a about a month. Wound up sending the whole differential to a corvette axle specialist and paying him to do it. That was on a C4. On the c5 the differential is bolted directly to the output shaft of the gearbox. I hate to have others work on my car but this is way outside shadetree lvl.

You have to have all the Getrag tools, and they are not cheap. Then you have to practice on a few boxes to make sure you can set the pattern and the pinion depth right. Its not a small job.

I need to look at all the options. Is the $1395 including the gears or is that just labor? How does that work for people that not in your area? Shipping the whole thing could be pretty expensive?

$1395 is the gears and the labor to swap the gears. We only do this at our shop.
