I was just talking to a buddy who was telling me something about a Cadillac auto transmission that had some realistic characteristics to the Ferrari F1 paddle shifters?

Anyone know any about this?

According to literature published even the latest, most powerful Cadillac, the 550HP CTS-V, still uses the same GM 6L80 that is on the C6 Corvette. That is a conventional automatic transmission with a torque converter and it has no similarities to F1 type transmissions which do away with torque converters and use electrically actuated clutches to do much quicker shifts...

Faster and more responsive shifts would be pretty awesome like F1. To bad nothing is available for use yet.

I didn't look it up, but I thought the Cadillac was getting the 6L90 which was slightly beefier than 6L80.

For those with A6's looking for faster and quicker shifts, some improvement can be made through tuning. I have not messed with A6, but several Tuners have proven records of improving the shift characteristics of the A6.
