I have some black dots that are really fused to my exhaust tips pretty good. I have some stuff from Mothers that won't remove. What is the strongest chrome detailing product out there?

Try using #0000 or #000 steel wool along with your mothers polish.

Have you tried that Mothers Ball applicator? I use it with my cordless drill and it does a excellent job.

is there a maintenance difference between stainless vs chrome plated stainless??

Why would I not get chrome plated stainless tips other than some people don't like chrome?

Personally I like the looks of stainless or polished aluminum over chrome on a modern sports car. Chrome will also pit and sometimes even pell off. It's very easy to polish out stainless steel or aluminum and keep it looking new. If chrome gets bad about the only thing you can do is have the piece rechromed.

Mothers Ball applicator is the best, that's what I've used.

I use the polishing kit from NakidParts, it's the best and gives the best results.

Blue Away or Simichrome both work well for tough stains.
If the black spots are baked on tar, use a solvent, clean, rinse and then polish.

Do not use a chrome cleaner or polish on Stainless.

This works well with the drill ball!:thumbsup3:

I use a Mothers power ball at the end of my drill with some metal polish. This works wonders :thumbsup:

I'm old fashion and still do everything by hand. No fancy drills just elbow grease and metal polish.

So true, stainless is much easier to take care of ,be carefull about using those green scrub pads on stainless.
