This is my first thread, help. I purchased a '85 Coupe just two months ago. It apparently has a Corvette America third tail light kit. How do I access the bulbs so I can change them???? Anyone have a set of instructions??

I have the stock one on an 87 and you have to open the back hatch and the screws are there if its been repainted you will want to go around it with a razor blade so u dont chip any paint.

You have to remove the halo panel from the inside then you can remove the 2 nuts that hold the cover to the roof.
Instead of replacing a couple of bulb at $10 each you might like my LED replacement option.
Oznium charges about $11 each for pre-wire LED strips that are water proof. Take 2 of those and stack them ontop of eachother with a little clear silicone gasket sealer, Solder the lead wires to 1/4" pieces of paper clip and plug the clips right into the factory plug strip. They last almost forever and are cheaper.
Look at pick here to see finished in the opening;

The copper wires go into the top strip and the silver in the bottom strip...i had it backward when i took the pic.

You find the strips here; http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips
I used clear but think that red would have been better.

Also, when changing the bulbs, I would change all of them even it one or two is still lite just so you have fresh bulbs & only have to take it apart once.

Thats the problem, there are no screws on the underside of the hatch, just the three bolts that hold the hatch to the hinged metal plate. Surely I do not have to remove the hatch.......

Before removing the halo. Look at where the brake light is mounted. I think the aftermarket ones are bolted dirrectly to the roof...it has been a long time since i have seen one. The factory ones are screwed onto the hatch peice itself with a wire protector bolted under the halo. Look close at where it is attached first. If it is on the hatch they may have glued it in since there wouldn't be any holes to go through.
