hey everybody! Recently, I came across a problem with my ignition key. It will start, and turn off the car, but wont lock the steering wheel. I tried cleaning, lubricating it, and I even got a copy of a key made. I can also start my vette with a key (cool, but not good). Any suggestions?

Are you saying you can start your car with out a key? Sorry last statement didn't flow with me :) I would look at the mechanics in the ignition switch, you may just need a new switch?

yeh, the key doesn't turn back to the lock position, so If I wanted to, I could start the car without the key.

The internal mechanism is probably bound up. Tearing down and repairing a column is a royal pain as its engineered to be very difficult/require custom tools. On the upside you can get a new ignition sw and install it in the dash for that retro/custom look.
