My steering feels loose. How can this be tightened up or adjusted? Thanks again

hey man, try tightening some of the nuts and bolts, but i would recommend having the power steering control valve checked out by a gas station (getting it up on a lift). In the C3 vettes, it was very common for it to break. You might have to buy a new one, but there are remanufactured parts that you can find for pretty cheap. Also, have you checked, or changed the fluid recently?

Thanks for the tips, I have not changed the fluids but will now.

yeh, read the manual for the fluid change, and you may need to flush and drain the system.

On top of the power steering box(unit) you will see a threaded stud with a jam nut on it. Loosen the jam nut and take flat blade screwdriver and turn clockwise about 1/8 turn. It won't take much. Re-tighten jam nut. Drive it and test it out. Repeat as neccessary. You can make steering too tight so use caution.
