ALL C4s have a TPS, therefore in the scope of this, the C4 section, 1984. What year was the first Corvette EFI? The 1982 Crossfire. I have never owned a car with an electronic carb. Did they utilize a TPS?

RACE ON!!!

1st year for the throttle postion senser should be 1980 on California vettes, they had electric feedback carbs. which had tps & mixture control solenoid. The rest of the carb. was a basic Q-jet.
If you ment TPI, the 1st year for that efi system was 1985.

I would think 82 would be the first year of a TPS to be used on a vette.

I didn't realize that 80 Corvettes had that TPS Q-Jet??? I had an 81 Camaro that ran it along with the pos cccc "computer". I have seen several other GMs with it from 81 and 82, but not in an 80 yet...learn something every day...

I'm preatty sure 1980 vettes that have to meet Californian emissions have computer controlled carbs. 49 state vettes did have the reg. carb. That was common for the auto makers to do, when it comes to EPA, California emissions are like a different country.
