:patriot: Ok, so the story is my husband is currently in Iraq and as a gift for his homecoming I've purchased him his dream car... a 2004 Commemorative Edition Corvette Convertible. Now it still has the standard radio still in it and I would like to upgrade it to an in-dash touchscreen (gps, dvd/cd, bluetooth, satellite radio, all that jazz).

I've been researching so many units and am unsure of the mods that will need to take place for a double-din or which unit is the best to buy (and will fit nicely) for this year car.

He returns home Dec 19th so I would like to get suggestions quickly so I can order and have a professional put in so I can have the bezel modified if needed.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Check out Crutchfield.com they have experts that can configure a complete package or individual parts for the vette on whatever budget you have. They also carry a list of approved installers local to you.

You will also have to find a vendor that sells the double din console piece.Make sure you save all your factory parts in case you ever want to return the car to stock.

Your husband is very fortunate to have such a caring and thoughtful wife.
We are all fortunate to have such a dedicated man serving our country.
We appreciate you hardship while he's away, and pray for his safe return.
I got my first new Vette back in 1975 on my return home from the U.S. Army.
34 years and a couple of Vettes later and I'm just as excited every time my wife and I go for a drive.
May you and your husband have a lifetime filled with happy Corvette memories as we have!
