We have pulled a ton of weight off the car. The car with ½ tank of gas originally weighed 3,150 lbs. The car presently weigh approx 2,270 lbs, but we will be adding approx 300 lbs. If we can keep the car around 2,600 lbs that would be great. We shall see!

Thanks. Will be posting more progress shots as we push hard to get car ready for track opening day 4/1. We are also working on some fun paint job ideas for the car. Will post when those are more developed.

Any performance goals in mind with this car? HP and TQ, 1/4 mile or even top speed?

Any performance goals in mind with this car? HP and TQ, 1/4 mile or even top speed?

The car is designed for road racing. Goals are to improve the handling, braking and acceleration potential of the car in that order of priority.

Key tactics to get there:

1. Lighten the car (lighter cars stop, accelerate and turn better).
2. Improve handling (3 way coil overs, racing slicks with negative camber, lower car and install new uprights/swing arms and install front splitter/rear wing/front& rear undertrays to create downforce)
3. Improve braking: Brembo GTR monoblock brakes(15.5 " front rotors) with separate front and rear master cylinders to allow adjustment of f/r brake bias.
4. Improve acceleration: High cube NA engine with high compression to produce about 750+ at crank (runs on race fuel/Dailey dry sump sys to prevent oil starvation during high G turns), drive train enhancements include level 5 trans, tranny, diff, 2 stage oil coolers.

Tom, it looks like you are going to have a killer ride there. Keep us all posted on your progress. What engine management system will you be running?
