Or what are the main things that you look for in determining your opinion on the value of the car?

Look for any wiring that's been hacked into. Otherwise check it like any other car. Make sure everything works. Buy the the best, lowest milage car you can afford. Project C4s quickly end up costing more than they are worth.

That is very true. Just remember that all the little things are a minimum $100 bill and add up quickly

I can't agree more with this. You have to look relly well and then it can be hard to tell about the wiring. When I got my 88 I knew it had an alarm installed. What I didn't know was the installers were butchers. They did so much damage to the wiring it has taken a lot of time and effort to sort it out. C-4 is pretty much like any other car. Make sure EVERYTHING works. Not sure about value but mileage seems to be the main factor in cost. Except for the rare ones. Collector Editions etc.

I Have An 87 Z51, Doesn't Seem To Be Much Interest In My 15k C-4, I Think Gm Was Milking Their Suppliers And Skimping On Quality, These Cars Sound Great, Handle Great Except At High Speeds, My Heart Is In My Mouth, But Overall I Still Love It.

Skimping on Quality!!!!!. Yep.... I love my C-4 also. I do not understand how a car that is the Flagship of the company could be built with all these creaks, rattles, shakes and groans. I guess they knew how popular these cars would be and we would buy them anyway. It is a constant battle to keep the interior trim quiet.

I have a 1992 with a 6 speed and 70,000 miles. I am very satisfied, very solid in ride and sound. Considering it is 17 years old I think it is very hard to beat and I still get looks from passer bys.... Would not sell her for anything!

Original paint, no smoke, or leaks. No strange noises. No oil in coolant, no water in oil, clean fresh smelling tranny fluid if it's an auto. Tight steering and suspension. Overall condition and low mileage for the year. Obvious signs it was well taken care of.
