Does anyone have any experience rebuilding Doug nash overdrive units like the one in my 85? The clutches are burnt out from full throttle engagement 120mph and now i need a rebuild. Just looking asking if anyone knows anything about these.

I had a Doug Nash 4+3 and it locked up ...anyway i tried the richmond 6 speed and that didnt turn at very well so i went with the Tremic TKO-500 , Its a great tranny and it shifts like cutting butter..

Due to the price for a rebuilt unit I was considering the richmond trans. What was the deterrent if you don't mind me asking?
