The only thing you can do to find an annoying drain is put an ammeter between the battery's PLUS post and the terminal end and see how much of a drain you have (in amperes). Then start pulling your fuses one at a time until the drain suddenly stops. Then it'll be on THAT fuse's circut where your drain is coming from. If you have a wiring diagram, see what different things that fuse powers. And as relays often stick, try removing the hot wire from each relay and see if that stops your drain. I recently had an annoying drain until I happened to walk behind my car one day. The stoplights were on! It ended up being a miss-adjusted stoplight switch causing my drain.

You also need a ground strap to the car's steel framework that surrounds the cabin.

all grounds are prooerly connected and i said i had this problem before i restored tjis vette and i replaced engine compartment because someone had installed a kill switch in this harness and i thought it caused the problem but now i'm looking for bad relays or bad wire connectors and i just cant put my hand on the problem that why i was wondering if there is a really good wiring schematic that would show all circuts and relays and grounds thanks for all replys Keith

yes it is the same starter and selenoid and when it does start it cranks easy and starts up fine when i done frame off i had the complete running gear done motor and all exhust everything done and the engine would start and run fine when i put body back on is when this problem came back the other day two friends came over both of us held door switches in and the other guy started car started so i figured door switches were bad well the next day i tried it and back to same thing again it acts like a ground some times the dome lite comes on dim and some times when you turn ingition switch on left turn sig lite in dash comes on but i cant imagine not having a good ground i;m going out now and pull all fuses and make shure they all have good contact thanks and if you have any sugestion please let me know Keith

I had a similar problem on my 76. Turned out to be the factory alarm circut. Disco'd it, problem solved.

I just cut the wires to the keyed switch in the fender and the alarm horn. Left the door switches alone . Its been about 10 yrs ago but if I remember right the relay for the alarm on my 76 was in the pass side rear compartment.Good luck

There is a guy on the other Corvette Forum that will send free wiring diagrams to anyone that needs them for any year vette. Hit the search button and put in free wiring diagrams . The name papawana will come up . He is from New Port Richey Fl. He will email a wiring diagram to you to copy free of charge. Great guy!
