: Can Any1 Help Me Out
HOUSTONC5 11-02-2009, 02:59 AM Just put on a set of 20x10.5 C6 motorsport rins on the rear and 19's on the front. I also had the vette lowered. This weekend i noticed the rear wheels rubbing against the wheel fender of my car only when going about 5 mph can u hear the rear wheels rubbing just a little. Its not a loud noise or anything crazy but I was wondering if any1 could recomend to me what kind of spacers i should get what size? I couldnt even stick my pinky finger inbetween the rear wheel and the wheel fender. so there is barely any room at all. I dont want my wheels to stick out to far but just enough to make them stop rubbing, Any advice or pics. Thanks
Rabbit 11-02-2009, 04:47 AM is your car a c6? did you install z06 wheels on a c6? have you had an alignment done after? your camber could be off.
HOUSTONC5 11-02-2009, 05:47 AM its a C5 and there the c6 motorsport wheels. I have not gotten an allignment.
D2FORGED 11-08-2009, 04:50 PM Based on what you said about the proximity of the wheels to the fenders, I'd be VERY careful about running a spacer. It could push the wheel into the fender.
My vote is for a alignment, perhaps your camber / castor is off.
targetpractice 11-10-2009, 05:41 AM I think D2 is onto something.
Bucwheat 11-27-2009, 12:35 PM Check to see if it is rubbing on the back side. And if only on one spot of the tire, you may have a wheel slightly warped.
revenge98 11-28-2009, 07:06 AM I agree, get an alignment and then if you need, get spacers.
5thscalemadness 11-29-2009, 06:51 AM I just don't like the idea of running spacers, never have so I too would get an alignment.:thumbsup3:
highoctane 12-01-2009, 01:41 PM Be careful, I have seen fenders crack from tires bottoming out and hitting the fender, you don't want that!
maggiegirl 12-02-2009, 05:33 AM oh wow! a friend of mine has that problem too...and he talked about getting an alignment.
snowman35 12-02-2009, 02:56 PM i have the same problem.i dont know what to do with it either:1zhelp: ......
smith19 12-05-2009, 08:18 PM yeah my friend started having that problem after he lowered his car a bunch...his tires are going bald around the edges from the scraping.
gerryharris89 12-06-2009, 07:06 AM Keep us posted as to what you find out buddy!
sandybeach91 12-07-2009, 05:57 PM that sucks man,..i havent had that problem, and my vette is pretty low. ill ask around.
gordan3 12-08-2009, 03:50 AM get the alignment before you do anything
danger! 12-08-2009, 12:44 PM Goes to show you how important getting the right tires and wheel packages is!
toro54 12-09-2009, 03:43 AM alignment first, then look into the spacers, good luck.
sandybeach91 12-14-2009, 06:37 AM hey my friend just fixed the same problem on his car except his wheels were rubbing in the front..all he did was raise the front a little bit and it hasnt happened since.:rockon6rk:
giblets1812 12-14-2009, 06:45 AM I would go with the alignment first, if it's still a problem then raise it back up some, at least until it stops rubbing. Good luck
