My two pre cats got clogged up so I chopped them out and am just running the main cat. I will be replacein the main can soon because it is on its way out the door as well.
Has anyone else done this and tried to get emitions done? Did you pass??
For all the vettes 82 or older that have their cats cut off. Did you see a major power increase??
There are so many things wrong with my baby I am just teetering between Mod and replacements. Not rich enough to do both at the same time.

Typically you will see some nice gains when omitting your cats. Now obviously you will need to do something in order to pass smog tests. I think that the gain of hp is around 20 horses when the cats are taken off. Maybe I am off a little but I think that is real close!

Have you looked on ebay for replacements? I have been using ebay for while now and save alot of green on some replacement parts. Might be worth you doing some searches there.

I'm not recommending this, but I've taken cars for the race what ya brung class and used a long half inch extension and a hammer to drive the honeycomb outta cats. Useful when you dont wanna do any welding or cutting.

True. I guess the only real solution is to change your state of residence. Mine is in mississippi so i dont have to smog any of my cars.

No problem in Arizona, I replaced front cats with new pipes without cats, replaced stock main cat with high flow, no problem, sounds good to boot!
