Each time the door is opened the horn starts beeping and something is clicking. I am a single woman with no mechanical knowledge, so if someone out here can help me to disable this oe resolve the problem I will be eternally grateful !!

what you need to do is disable the alarm with your FOB. Look inside your owners manual for details on how to do this. Basically stand by your Vette and hold the door button down for 4-5 seconds. This will turn off all alarm systems. If you do not have a FOB try this; or, If it continues to blow, try locking and then unlocking your doors with the power swith and the key turned on. My corvette only does this when I lock the doors with the power locks and then open the door with a key, then the alarm goes off.

you can also try putting some 3 in 1 oil in your door locks then put key in and turn lock with the key about a dozen times. Pull key out making sure its vertical in position. If key was pulled out and the lock tumber is still paritaly turned, the alarm will go off when you open the door (it thinks somone is trying to break into the car.

Disengages by turning Door Key in Door. before you open.

I'm guessing it's been fixed since the OP posted it in '09
