: newbie to the section guys,
bionic88troy 10-22-2009, 08:40 AM Quick question, I am looking to replace all of my bushings as they all look pretty cracked and dry. First where is a good place to get new bushings for a good price and would this be something I could do on my own? I do have an extensive set of tools and air tools so I have that covered. Thank you.
robs1988 10-22-2009, 09:05 AM Having tools does not make one mechanically inclined. You can get the bushings at any website that specializes in Vettes though check your local parts store first. Most are competitively priced so there will probably be a difference of a few bucks. If you've never done this sort of replacement before, better set quite a bit of time aside to complete it.
make sure you get the polyeathean bushings, a little more but wiorth it.
CFI-EFI 10-22-2009, 11:44 AM Some of the front suspension bushings, like the control arm shaft bushings aren't even available in their stock form; never were. The only way to replace those bushing (only) without buying new control arms is to use the performance polygraphite, or polyurethane bushings.

What is your opinion on polygraphite vs polyurethane bushings?
Paulie Lugnuts 10-22-2009, 02:53 PM Another advantage of the poly bushings is they much easier to install than the rubber ones. Grease 'em up and push 'em in.
khan2305 10-23-2009, 07:09 AM I agree, I thought that once I got tools I could do anything, completely wrong!!! lol Welcome to the C4 section anyhow.

At least mechanically inclined. That is a lot better than comprehension deprived! HE knows how to open the hood and what to do when he does. All you do, is open your MOUTH and because you don't comprehend, what comes out of your MOUTH is nonsense. IDIOT!

Nope, its still up. Goes down when I'm not doing anything under the hood. Ever restore a car yourself? Build any engines that ran for longer than a minute? I doubt it. And, yeah, I changed it for the 'dogs riding in Vettes' thread. Check it out. Soon it will go back.
You can keep using it all you want, but you will never :ownedbutton: me. Keep drooling over your wax figure.

You have a crossfire also. I'd put my money on his CFI against yours. He posts real things based on experience that help people, at least, those capable of comprehending it. You post this junk. Ever figure out what an egr valve?

Good for you, bravo,clap, clap
no I have not rebuilt an engine
Obviously, and, this was a rhetorical question, but thanks for playing.

Since "no I have not rebuilt an engine" was your response, can't give you any credibility for knowing whether it is or isn't cheaper. If you know what your doing, which you don't, I'll tell you it is cheaper, and will last just as long if not longer. Who needs a warranty if you know what your doing?

Aw, did it strike a nerve? You can call it 'the headless horsewoman rides again'.   :smilielol5: :smilielol5:
