I own a '94 ZR-1 and very occasionally get an amber "service engine soon" light. It only happens if I've been driving for at least 60-90 minutes non-stop on the interstate. It does not recur should I stop the engine and then restart, nor does it ever display when I'm driving around town. So far it hasn't thrown any codes. Any ideas? Thanx, Gary M. '94ZR1 #0062

When it does pop on if you have time, stop into an AUTO ZONE and have them check the code. You may have a short. Or like the 96' camarro I had, I was getting a periodic check engine like that where the computer, was actually regestering a slip in the transmission which I did not feel at all. The light didnt always turn back on. But in the end, I had to rebuild the tranny.

Try jumping A and B terminal on the aldl when it happens. make sure your parked first. If there really is a code it will flash it for you on the SES light. If not you may be suffering the same problem as disturbed.
