I have 87 c4 i want to install a wood dash kit but I need to some how remove the headlight button to install, or do i take the dash apart to get to the switch ?

The button/knob will come off if it's a pull-push type as in my 85. There is a solid v-type clamp made within the knob that slid over the switch stem. Depress the back of this clamp and the knob will slide off.

works the same on the 85 as on the 87...just have to stick a small screwdriver or pin in the back to depress the V-clamp and it'll pop off like it'd been scalded:rofl::rofl:
