I have an '88 that is showing lowcoolant warning, yet the radiator is full. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

I've posted this before...but make sure your water pump isn't busted..you'd probably be able to tell though, hope it's not!

You either have air in the system ( have you "packed" the radiator?) or the low coolant switch is lose / faulty ; common problem

My low coolant light is also on ever since i bought my '87, but my water pump just seized up on me a few days ago. The serpentine belt snapped off and shredded itself when i was test driving it.

Your point being?
If a warning light is on it is usually a good idea to find out WHY it is on

What do you mean by "packed" the radiator?

I'm assuming he's meaning you remove all of the air from the radiator.

On a C4 at least ,if you do a cold fill and run the engine with the radiator cap off ,when you rev the engine you can see the coolant level drop big time in the radiator.
You hold the revs , fill radiator and put cap back on before dropping the revs.
So long as you have coolant in the overflow bottle , after a couple of heat cycles all the air should be out of the system
