: Just got my first Vette for my B-Day!!!!!!
heyunclecharlie 01-23-2008, 07:12 AM I am pretty much out of my mind right now! I am only 18 years old and my father bought a 1988 C4 for me because I am an A student. I do not know much at all about Vettes so I will be asking alot of questions to learn as much as possible!! This looks like a cool site, I will be here every day, I have a few months before I can drive it as I am in Ohio!! Talk to you all later!:)
Kevin.
2jakes 01-24-2008, 08:17 AM Kevin, Congrats, there will always be issues with owning a older corvette, and it does not need to be frustrating as the net is full of support, there are several main Corvette part suppliers, Corvette America, Ecklers,Corvette Central,Mid America Motorworks to name a few,all w/great sites. Also look for a Corvette club in your area where there are 'SEASONED" C-4 owners. Corvettes are referred to as C-1,C-2,C-3,C-4,C-5,C-6 and soforth, referring to their generation, you have a 4th generation, hence C-4. You will have a learning curve to keep your Vet tip-top but it will be fun, and moreso with a father/son hobby. I am 68 years old and beleive I'm on my 11th Vet,C1,C2,C3,C4 and have enjoyed each and every one, infact we sold the grocery getter last year and kept just our Corvette for our retirement and are having a blast!!!! enjoy,2jakes P.S. a handy item to have is "The Corvette Blackbook" $16.95 from Michael Bruce Associates.

Hey, thanks for all the info! I am going to pick up that book today, I am sure I will find it at Barnes and Noble. I have already washed the car a handful of times and I just sit in it for awhile because it is not yet registered! Soon though and then I will be out and about! Talk to you later!

bkemp 01-26-2008, 10:28 AM Happy Birthday Kevin and congrats on your 88 vette, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I do my 89.
Disturbed 01-27-2008, 03:12 PM Congrats on the new ride. Like all good relationships this will probably also be a "Love-Hate Relationship", Mine is. My baby "Loves" to "Hate" my wallet. And I think she is having a love affair with Mr.Chevron.
cmcbunch 01-28-2008, 01:22 PM Welcome to the club man. Wish you only the best with your vette.
Motsiv2 02-19-2008, 09:00 PM All I can say is Enjoy!
heyunclecharlie 02-19-2008, 10:25 PM Thanks everyone!! I have'nt done anything with it yet, just washed it about 100 times!! I am not going to do any engine mods because it is fast enough for me and I can already get in enough trouble with how fast it is now!! Plus, my dad said that if he gets it for me that I have to stay safe in it and if he finds otherwise that he will take it away from me!!! No way I am going to let that happen! Talk to you all later.
