I need something that will remove brake dust or at least break it down where it's easier to scrub off? Any recommendations?

since the wheels are clear coated, i treat them like paint, and put a coat of wax on them,, sure it doesn't last long because of the heat, but they clean with a spray of water

I was thinking sense they are clear coated, maybe use clay bar on them than a good coat of wax.

I use some diluted simple green and a soft brush, comes up like new. I wax them when i wax the car. usually just can wipe them down real quick when done driving and the dust comes right off.

Just as a general insider but I would recommend against using Simple Green on anything releated to automotive care, in particular on painted surfaces such as your wheels, which (if factory) are clear-coated.

Excessive cleaning with a high alkaline solution can speed up the oxidation process, causing the wheels to dull over time.
