I put Magnaflows onto my 1st 78 and it sounded very good and deep. I just bought my 2nd 78 2 days ago and it had Flowmasters on it. It is also very deep and has a very bassy tone. It is definately louder than stock, not annoying or anything, but very deep. The rest of the exhaust is stock. On my 1st one, the cat is gone, I have true duals, and an H pipe. Both exhaust sets sound great.

I put a true dual system on my '80 about 5 years ago and love it. I got it from MidAmerica and had to do a few mods to it because I have headers, but it's no big deal. I also went with Flowmaster delta flow 40's. It sounds great. If I changed anything it would be to put sidepipes on it.

Magnaflows or Flowmasters will give the beefy sound you are after.
