Hi Guys
Here is the problem - got the rt side header installed fairly easily - left side is a no go. Headers are ceramic coated hooker competition - I have removed the plugs and valve cover, have it on a lift and it doesn't go whether I try from the bottom or top. Anyone who has been here and solved the problem, I'd sure like to hear from you.
Thanks:confused:

You may have to loosen a motor mount and lift the engine up on one side to add a little extra room. Also one thing to watch out for, make sure your header tubes are not being stopped by the oil filter. On my vette i had to remove the oil filter to allow the header to twist a little bit to get into place.:)

I guess I was lucky - I put Hooker ceramic competition headers on my 77 w/350 and only had to remove the valve covers and spark plugs. I was able to go in from the top on both sides. The right side went in fairly easy, but the left was like putting together a chinese puzzle. I just kept working with it until I found a way to get it in. Good Luck.

Hello
It should go in from the bottom with the spark plugs removed, if it's a 4 speed the clutch cross arm must be removed. If you have a drives side motor mount that is bad or the frame has been repaired before you mite remove the motor mount bolt and lift the motor on that side. I know on a big block the steering box gets in the way. But a small block should go in with not problem.
