Does anyone know where I can find a good diagram of the Tilt/Telescopic steering column on '78 C3.I bought this car several weeks ago and it has not been maintained well.I got the lights to brighten but now I can't dim them.I am changing the color of the whole interior to black,replacing the steering wheel and I am not sure how to go ahead and change the dimmer switch.The diagrams and books I have say I need a Lockplate Remover (not sure which one) so I bought one but not sure where or what to use it on as the Hayne's and Chilton's Repair Manuals have different steps to get to the darn things.I have the steering wheel off along with the cover and there are some plastic pieces on the shaft and I'm not sure how to remove these without breaking them and they seem to be stuck pretty good (30 years old) and below these are what look like large star washers and none of the books I have show any of these.Any help will be appreciated.:confused:
