How can I check to see what rgear ratoi, I have with out tearing it down.
I just bought this defferntial for a C-3 I'am up grading from a 3.08 to a 3.90 ratio.
The man said it is a 3.90, but I check the stamps on the bottom and it reads it a 3.55, he said they change the gears, but never restamp the bottom.
Is there a way to turn the yoke, so many times to see what ratio it is?
Please help before I install this thing.

i believe you can figure out your ratio if you turn the yoke...in your case you should be able to turn the yoke 3.90 times and the axle should turn once.

May i ask why your changing to such a high ratio?

that will work, i m with you , why? 3.90 is a lot for street , unless you upgrade transmissions too that was not a G. M. gear option , but could be aftermarket gears
