My wipers won't shut off when the car is turned on?! This morning it started, the only thing I did was clean the windshield, then they just didn't shut off? Any ideas, I checked the switch and know I have them set to off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might have a bad fuse or relay. There could also be a short in the circuit somewhere that is causing this to happen. That is really the only advice that I can give you so I hope it helps atleast a little bit!:)

If you check your fuse, then I say you have short in your circuit somewhere?

More then likely your drain tubes are plugged (you better clean em out!) and the control module got wet. Typically when it dries out, they start working correctly again.

Not sure what drain tubes you are talking about, but I turned the car off and it sat for about 7 hours. When I started it everything was just fine, actually it has been almost 2 months now and it has not happened again? Weird!

There are two drain tubes under the wiper motor that drain water out of that area, they plug up every now and then allowing the water to short out your wiper motor. get a good strong flashlight and look back under and to the right of the brake resevoir, you'll see them. Reach down there and try to get the gunk out of them....

During lunch I'll check, thanks for all the help. Looks like you have done this before?

Oh yeah! I pulled out half a pound of leaves that don't even grow in PA! No joke though!

Thanks for the tip. I will get out there and give my car a once over and see if anything is built up in mine like this.

Thank god for this forum! My '02 was doing this exact same thing this past week. It had done it a couple times about 3 years ago too.
I knew it was due to moisture in the system somehow because the first time it did it was after i had washed the car.
I wouldn't have found those "drain tubes" on my own very easily... both packed with old leaves and dirt.
Thanks!! :thumbsup3:
