I would simply invest into a turbo.

I agree. If you want a significant power boost to your car you either need to go turbo or supercharger. Lot's of choices but the twin turbo route is probably a good choice. You can go easily about 340 rwhp to 575 rwhp.

The turbo and install however will cost about $9,000. If you can't afford I would forget power boosters.

The typical head cam upgrade or even adding headers will get you 50 or 75 extra hp for about $4,000 and you won't really notice it.

Good luck.

With 75 ponies he should feel a little difference? Oh thats right its only about 15% increase in power right?

It depends on which cam and cyl heads he goes with. There's some significant variation in price and performance between cyl heads.

My experience is that a head cam upgrade is great for someone who needs to stay NA, ergo. does HPDE's/road races. Those folks with headers and some good flowing heads usually have $5,000+ invested by the time they are done. Yes, they can feel it at the track, but on the street it won't provide near the rush that a FI set up will.

A FI TT set up will generate 200-250 addl hp, which is about 2 or 3 times the head/cam. I hate to see someone spend $4,000-$5,000 and feel like they need more power (& start sinking more money into the engine).

All you younger people get really into this upgrades on these cars? I'm one of the "old guys" who barely even drives the car (1249miles on a 2006). Its interesting to read these post and watch people running after HP!

I would bolt on a set of headers, exhaust and cold air intake, and tune the car. Go with a short shifter, and put some sticky tires on the car. Maybe get 20-30 to the wheels at least. With a sticky tire Z06's have gone in the 10's. That could def beat a viper.

Different strokes for different folks. True, vettes are great OEM. On the other hand they are also a hoot with more hp. I road race my car weekly May to Nov and enjoy having the extra horses. It adds to the fun. Ergo; lots of way to have fun.

On the later post re. cold intake, headers and exhaust: that will make your car sound awesome and is also a fun upgrade. Depending on what products you install you are looking at $2500-3000+. 20-30 hp is great, but 200-250 with TT is kick butt.

Good luck whatever you decide.

To add a litte to what Tom posted, the cam, intake, header option is great, and you can be right at 500RWHP with that setup, but it also lays a great foundation for a Procharger package a little later on!

We have an '08 with the header/exhaust/tuning being dyno'd today, I'll share some before & after results this afternoon

Speaking of spending money if you don't mind be asking that project you have going. Whats that project setting you back?
