Yes only the Z51 Package got the fast steering but someone may have fitted a Z51 rack.
What year?
Do you have Z51 on the RPO code label?
There are lots of pieces that make up the complete Z51 package
Springs , swaybars , fan, oil cooler , PS cooler, brakes on some years

If I am not mistaken, the rpo list is under the center console lid, or in the left rear storage compartment, if I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong.

In '85 it does; all C4's got Bilsteins from '88 .
As I said these parts are easily swapped so the only way to tell it a original Z51 option car is from the RPO label or build sheet

My 87' z52 coupe has the marking on the label under the center council lid. look through all of the paint codes and such until you find your suspension code.

Stick your head under your car and on the one end of the rear spring it will say RHD that means it has heavy duty springs and it is a Z51. The big spring is that black fiberglass sping that stretches across from one side to the other between the wheels. :beerbang:

Wrong again
'85 Z51 rear spring code is NYU
GM # 14080196

'85 Front Z51 spring should be HMZ although HMZ was the base spring for '84 also

So were did you glean that titbit of information from?
Still wrong.
'84 Z51 spring is coded BMI GM # 14047588 which has a spring rate of 87.5Nmm .
Not to be confused with the base '84 spring ; coded BMF which has a spring rate of 72N/mm
You lose AGAIN

No, a 84 vette with Z51 will have RHD stamped in the spring, crawl under an 84 Z51 and you will see it. Your wrong. Stop reading or giving false information get out of the chair and go and find a Z51 84 and look. Or Mr. I don't know what I am talking about, take it from an 84 owner that has a Z51. By the way why are you argueing about an 84 vette the OP's car is an 85 you are not helping, again.  :ownedbutton:

Who says your car is orginal ????? Did you buy the car new in '84? Anything could have been changed in 24 years.
Just because a certain spring is under your car doesn't mean that is the orginal factory spring.
There are at least 19 rear springs listed and they all interchange 84 -96. Many early owners did not like the hard ride of
the '84 Z51 (hardest ever made ) and swapped in softer springs .Springs coded RH* are listed for 92- 96 cars

By the way why are you argueing about an 84 vette the OP's car is an 85

Because you brought it up ;"for some reason I thought he had an 84."
I gave info on '85 Z51 back in post #11
