It just looks overwhelming, is there any reason to not just use the engine cleaner at the car wash places?

It may take a little longer to do the engine bay but listen to us, don't spray the lame engine washers! With these cars there are way too many things that could go wrong by doing that!

Agreed, Just too many exposed connectors & sensors for a high pressure wash to foul up.

I found that if you just touch it up really quick every other week it stays pretty clean for the most part.

Yep I'm old fashioned and use to work a lot on cars that didn't have all this fancy electrical stuff. The last owner of my vette didn't take care of it underneath my hood. Just work at it a little at a time!
