Does anyone know what material the STOCK pads are on a '04 C5? Are they Ceramic, Metallic or semi-metallic?

Semi. I went with Ceramics when I did my D/S rotors.:cheers:

If you want some more stopping power go with the Z06 pads. If you want less dust than Ceramics (note though that Ceramics are not made for repeative hard stopping)

What are the Z06 pads made from? Also will I need to get different calipers?

How big of difference is there between semi metallic and metallic? :confused: Is there really a difference. I thought there was regular brakes and ceramics as the choices??

I'm not up on the fade characteristics of the three but metallics are squeallers, semis not so much, both are dirty. Ceramics are cleaner but as stated fade after repaeted hard stops, fine for the street though.

On the C5 there is no diference between the Z06 calipers and the C5 calipers except the Z06 ones are painted red. Since there is no difference the pads are interchangable.

I believe semi just abit more aggressive. The Z06 pads would be close to the Hawk HPS pads.

You should call Porterfield out of California (??) actually I'm not sure where they are out off. They have all sorts of brake pads.

They are out of California and they do have big selection of brake pads! I spoke to them, if its made they have it. Good luck
