Im gonna be picking up a 98 in the upcoming weeks and i was wondering if anyone has done the APS Twin Turbo system? Its a bit expensive, but seems worth it. If not, could anyone recommend any other twin turbo systems?

APS makes fantastic kits, the aussies really know what they are doing. STS also make great kits for the Corvette.

Isn't there a thread talking about APS not selling in the US anymore?

Ask and ye shall receive, just had the tune finished up on Monday:

But yes, APS has pulled out of the US market mainly due to being called out on using shoddy parts and not backing up their stuff. There's a LARGE thread on LS1Tech about it in the FI section. My kit is surviving for now, though I threw out the ENTIRE inlet system and had to replace the scavenge pump which failed and caused some turbo seal issues.

If you want a TT, TTi is the way to go.

No STS is not the style that has heat issues because the turbos are in the back of the car.

the only flaw with the STS kit (rear mount) is that there is a long length of tubing for pressurized air and exhaust to travel. there are more potential for leaks.
also, the oiling on the turbo requires pumps due to the long length of travel, there are possibilities of leaks there.

otherwise, that is a good kit for a basically stock car.

have you looked into procharger or vortech kits. there are a bunch out there for 3-4K.

if you are dead set on turbo, the TTiX is def the top kit! but you will pay for it...

TTIX is one of the only front mount turbo systems available now. They can virtually build the kit to suit your application. And they will sell parts of the kit which APS would not.

I'm not anti-APS because they did make a very nice kit but since they have pulled out of the North American V8 market we have to go with what works and the TTIX does!:thumbsup3:

We're going to be doing a TTIX install on a C6 Z06 coming up in the next month or so. Keep a watch out for that build as it happens!

Have done tons of reading and research and the STS is the one that fits all my needs. Talk to some present owners and they all love it. Heat is not a problem because system is rear mounted If motor work needs to be done this system is really a big advantage over front units. Can be easily removed if selling car and no major modifications will be noticeable. While my hands on ability is not there I am convinced that STS is a great choice. Good luck with whatever system you choose.:sm_party:

We recommend STS at our shop due to the heat factor involved with other systems. We have experinced heat issues with systems mounted under vechle (near convertors) and under hood systems. Lots of heat shield work and even vented hoods, extra cooling fans and extractor fans, plus heat wrap have help but not corrected the problem. STS it the way to go with turbo system for corvettes.

the STS system mounts the turbo's in the rear and heat is not a problem - I am installing the total insulation kit at the same time but more for noise than the turbo - call STS and discuss - they are great and I didn't even buy my system from them. They discussed - made recommendations on what used system to buy and who would be the best to install. No major mods - can easily remove if selling car and either reuse of sell. Do your homework but for me STS is the right way to go:vomitbuddy:
