I have a 99 C5 auto. I have been hearing a whining sound like bad belts almost. Well I replaced both belts. So then I turned towards pulleys. I replaced the idler pulley on the main belt and then also the idler pulley on the ac belt. Still same sound. Then I started to get a bad coolant leak from the water pump. I just replaced that and still the same sound. I had replaced the main tensioner pulley over a year ago with one from auto zone. Maybe that has gone bad again. I dont know. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry you are going through all that and not getting to the bottom of the problem. If it is whining than it is most likely just a belt or a pulley or your fan. You could also try your power steering and see if there is enough fluid in that! Good luck!:cheers:
