I'm trying to bleed the brakes on my 2000 c5 coupe. Started on right rear but I'm getting lots of air and can't get it to pull just fluid with no air. I'm using a pnuematic brake bleeder. Is there some trick or am i doing something wrong? Why would there be so much air? Thanks, Tim

You'll always see air in the pnuematic brake bleeder lines. I've tried a couple different brands and they're all the same. We always do them by hand.

David is right, that bleeder pulls the fluids so fast that it appears to be air all the time in the brakes! It usually only takes a handful of seconds to bleed each brack with that bleeder. You really need to keep your eye on the resivoir and make sure that it does'nt get low!

Go ahead and use the vacuum bleeder. When you are finished then with the bleeder valve open and the tubing from the valve submersed in the brake fluid (this keeps it from sucking any air back when you release the brake pedal) then you can slowly pump the pedal 5 or six times.
