The reciever is under the dash on the passinger side. Later years put it in the compartment behind the passenger seat and you will see why when you attempt getting to it. We suggest you drink heavely before attempting this procedure. Good luck, coastal corvette.

I just had the Stereo on my 90 replaced a few weeks ago. Mine had the Bose system and as I understand it the main problem is the stereo goes through the body control module and each speaker has its own amp on the speaker itself. So if you are going to replace the stereo you are going to have to run wiring to each speaker. I had a Sony put in mine that I am quite happy with. The stereo shop ordered a mount that holds the stereo and gave me a little cubby hole below it to cover up the rest of the hole and give me some extra storage. They put the amp in the storage area behind the passenger seat. They also ran an IPod hook up to my center console so I can keep it out of site (If I ever get one). The stereo will then control the IPod through the controls on the stereo itself. With the advances in stereo technology even a medium range system will sound a 100 times better than the old Bose system. You can email me specifically if you want any specific information Bilslater@hotmail.com
