I've never heard of a Quickfuel carburator before. Who makes it? Is it a spreadbore or a square pattern?

I'm running a Quickfuel 830 DP on my 383. I had a Holley 770 on it originally and the difference between the two is night and day. The Quickfuel is twice the carb... hands down!:thumbsup3:

Hey Fishslayer, Dobermann here. I have a Quick fuel and a Holley HP both in 750 D.P. Love them both, Look at the mailing address? They are right across the street from one another! I wonder?

think that s coincidence? ever see a Mc Donalds across from Burger King? Boy, this is an old thread, but I love the Quickfuel even more now..you can get a big cam motor to idle better than a holley with the 4 corner idle adjustments. Don t get me wrong, I ve been faithfully puting Holleys on my builds since the 70 s..No complaints,I used to get my Holleys custom built from Fuel Curve Inc. in Calif. but the Quickfuel is easier to fine tune.

Hey fish, I'm confused about something. Do all four barrels in a QuickFuel open at the same time? As you're saying it has idle mixture screws in all four corners I assume all four barrels open together and not progressively? It sounds like a damned good carburetor. How much do they cost? Similar to Holleys?

no they are more expensive than Holleys...it has 4 idle mix screws ,one on each barrel..but the throttle blades work like a standard mechanical secondary carb, with different adjustments to open secondaries at whatever percent of primary position you desire..so you can have it open at 30%-90% of primary bores..accelerator pumps front and rear. Removeable air bleeds, just like the main jets, to fine tune idle.. you can get a decent idle with a big cam, without having to just go extra rich to compensate
